The Nest Coaching
by Emily Pelky
A calm, inspired, and safe space where women can reconnect with their intuition, release the weight of present patterns, and rediscover freedom in who they are becoming.
Individual coaching is designed with the intention to guide women through life’s transitions with clarity, grace, and self-trust. Whether that’s motherhood, relationship changes, career shifts, or simply the evolution of your identity, we’ll work together to support connection with your intuition and alignment with the life you are creating.
Unlike therapy, coaching is goal-oriented, future-focused, and open to spiritual expansion. Coaching gets permission to be a place where “woo-woo” can meet grounded, evidenced-based knowledge, and clients are supported to create a life that feels aligned, abundant, and deeply authentic.
FAQ
What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?
At its core, Coaching focuses on the present and future, and can be made available to everyone. Therapy uses a clinical approach to treat diagnosed mental health concerns, which may mean exploring your past as well as goals for the present and future. Therapy services may only be offered in states where a qualified psychotherapist is licensed, for me, that’s California at this time.
My approach as a coach is informed by my knowledge and formal training in clinical psychology and therapeutic modalities, such as EMDR and perinatal mental health, as well as my expertise in alternative treatment modalities and energy work, including Reiki, tarot, astrology, and more.
Coaching is a good fit for anyone looking for support navigating life in the present moment, achieving their goals for the future, and feels aligned to an intuitive approach that is also backed by years of clinical knowledge of mental health.
Who is The Nest Coaching a good fit for?
How much does coaching cost? Do I need to purchase a coaching package?
Coaching is priced at $225 per 50 minute session. There are no packages or months long commitments. I have found it works best to approach this style of coaching from the intention of building a coaching relationship together week to week, not locking you in to months of commitment before we’ve even gotten to know each other.
You can expect to schedule weekly sessions to
start, and expanded cadence as progress is made towards goals, i.e. move to every other week, then monthly maintenance until you feel ready to end our work together.
Short answer: NO.
Let me explain… EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy treatment for trauma that can only be provided by an appropriately trained licensed therapist, within a therapeutic relationship. Ethically speaking, coaching can not include trauma treatment or mental health diagnosis.
However, Coaching may incorporate mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and reflective exercises that utilize tools such a bi-lateral stimulation.
As a licensed therapist trained in EMDR who is providing coaching services, my work as a coach is separate from my work as a licensed therapist. We can tailor your coaching services to include tools and resources that are appropriate for a coaching relationship, some of which may be inspired by similar tools used in EMDR treatment with therapy clients, such as guided visualization for resourcing or bi-lateral stimulation as a regulation tool, but will not be EMDR treatment.
Can a coach provide EMDR treatment?
Support comes in many forms, so if individual sessions aren’t for you at this time, I’d love to invite you to join The Nest, my weekly newsletter (shared via Substack right to your email inbox) and online community supporting moms. I share my writing about matrescence, relationships after baby, and the emotional and intuitive journey of becoming yourself again — all from a lens of clinical expertise so you can receive real guidance.
